Buyer's Guide July 21, 2026

What does a home inspection not cover?

A home inspection is broad, but it is not exhaustive. It usually identifies visible concerns, not every hidden defect.

What does it miss?
Inside walls, underground systems, intermittent leaks, and some specialized technical issues.

Does it test everything?
No. It is a visual inspection, not a destructive investigation.

Will it catch every safety issue?
Not always. Some problems require specialty experts.

Does it replace other inspections?
No. It is one piece of the review process.

What should buyers remember?
A clean inspection report does not mean a perfect home.
